The season ended for the Canora Supers senior baseball club on July 22 at the Al Sapieha Field in Canora.
Playing against the first-place Yorkton Yankees in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ East Senior Baseball League’s quarter-finals, the Supers lost the first game of the best-of-three series in Yorkton on July 20. To get to that point, the sixth-place Supers had defeated the third-place Swan River Reds in two games straight.
Playing at home on July 22, the Supers had to win or face elimination.
No runs were scored in the first two innings but the Yankees chalked up two runs in the third and then added another run in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead. The Yankees scored another five runs in the fifth but the Supers fought from behind to record four runs in the bottom of the fifth. It was not enough as the Yankees won the game 8-4 and the series.
