Preeceville open bonspiel attracts 17 teams

Seventeen rinks were entered in the Preeceville open bonspiel, which was held from February 26 to March 4. “This was our last bonspiel of the season," said Sheldon Luciw.

            Seventeen rinks were entered in the Preeceville open bonspiel, which was held from February 26 to March 4.

             The Ken Newell rink of Norqauy with team members Rick Kinaschuk, Evan Rostotski and Rubieann Klute, won first place in the first event. Newell defeated the rink of Sheldon Luciw, Daryl Hansen, Dodi Paterson and Sharon Bileski, all of Preeceville.

            The second event was won by the Bob Lebo rink of Preeceville with team members Glenda Jeffrey and Perry and Laura Pasiechnik. The team had defeated the rink of Brad Knutson of Norquay with team members Dalvin Sopel, Vince Northrop and John Knutson.

            The third event was won by the Robert Dercach rink of Norquay with members Lois Marten, Russell Lasko and April Dercach who had defeated the rink of  Ralph Ager and Lynn Ager of Preeceville and Derek and Skylar Ryczak of Sturgis.

            The fourth event was won by the rink of Kevin Cook, Rhonda Cook, Jeannette Jaques and Tye Olson, all of Preeceville. They defeated the rink of Jake Teslia of Buchanan with members Lenard Bazansky, John Teslia and Rory MacDonald.

            Other rinks entered were: Preeceville teams skipped by Phil Murrin, Bonnie Paul, Jonathon Strykowski, Eugene Gulka, James Bodnar and Lou Roste; Canora rinks, Don Probe and Bob Kolodziejski and from Endeavour, Scott Giddings.
