Preeceville athletes brought home medals from Districts

The Preeceville School track-and-field team had 21 athletes who had earned the privilege to advance from pre-districts to the District meet that was hosted in Yorkton last month.

The Preeceville School track-and-field team had 21 athletes who had earned the privilege to advance from pre-districts to the District meet that was hosted in Yorkton last month.

Willen Paligan, Connor Novak, Josiah Sorgen, Brandon Dyky, Sean Paligan, Malenna Petryshyn, Kelsey Daschuk, Christian Acosta and Jake Huska medalled at the District level.

Jake Huska won a gold medal in midget boys discus and a bronze medal in midget boys long jump.

Sean Paligan won a silver medal in midget boys triple jump.

Brandon Dyky won gold in junior boys triple jump.

Josiah Sorgen won gold in senior boys high jump.

Connor Novak won bronze in both junior boys discus and shot put.

Christian Acosta won silver in peewee 200-metre race and bronze in long jump.

Willen Paligan won gold in bantam boys 100-metre race and silver in the 200-metre race and long jump.

Kelsey Daschuk won a gold medal in bantam girls triple jump.

Sean Paligan, Brandon Dyky, Josiah Sorgen and Jake Huska earned the privilege to attend the provincial track-and-field meet in Regina on June 3 and 4, when Sean Paligan won a gold medal in the midget relay.
