If Terrell Owens makes a return to the football field this season, it definitely will not be with his old team the Buffalo Bills, it could be with the Cincinnati Bengals, suggests espn.com.

Owens, who has been making more stops in the NFL then a backpack traveller, had interest in him confirmed by the Bengal's president Mike Brown late on Monday.

This comes a day after the Los Angeles Rams appeared to be ready to secure the services of one of the game's most prolific wide receivers. Sources say that Los Angeles seemed like a good spot for Owens as he is already familiar with their offensive system, and also with members of the coaching staff.

The Rams decided on Monday that they would be pulling out of the so-called 'T.O. sweepstakes'.Brown told the media that Owens has been working with current Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer and that Palmer likes what he sees in the 36-year-old ball catcher.

What Owens would do for Cincinnati is give them a second receiver, almost equally as high profiled as Owens himself.

Both athletes have had their own reality TV show.

Cincinnati recently signed free-agent receiver Antonio Bryant during the offseason but reports say Bryant has struggled so far, possibly motivating the team to take a closer look at Owens, whom Palmer said "can still run".

Owens is a six-time Pro Bowler, had a pedestrian season with the Bills last season, catching 55 passes for 829 yards and only five touchdowns.

Back when Owens was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, he went on the record saying that the Eagles would have been a better team had they had Brett Favre as their quarterback.

What an interesting season it could be in Philly with those two on the same team? Another team that dropped out of the T.O. sweepstakes is the Seattle Seahawks, despite the connection between Owens and new 'Hawks coach Pete Carroll. The two were together way back when Owens entered the league as a rookie with the San Francisco 49 'ers.

He slammed the door shut on any possibility of a reunion in Seattle this fall.

Carroll said the Seahawks plan remains to develop their younger players as much as possible. He didn't say anything about Owens' known behaviour getting in the way however.

Owens himself, said he believes teams are swayed by the notion that he is a troublemaker. It's a perception he believes he shed a bit with more controlled behaviour this past season as a member of the Bills.

It also was one of his worst seasons in the league where he scored only five touchdowns.

As of YTW's press time, the New York Jets had shown interest in signing Owens.
