Maulers drop home encounter in shoot-out

YORKTON - The Yorkton SECON Maulers hosted the Saskatoon Contacts Saturday at the Westland Insurance Arena.

The Maulers struck first in the Saskatchewan AAA U18 League contest with Shaden Duliak finally breaking the scoreless tie with the only goal of the second period with 47 ticks left on the clock.

In the third period the Contacts evened things 3:48 in on a goal by Zach Moore.

The 1-1 tie held through regulation time, and the five-minute overtime, setting up a shoot-out to determine a winner.

The Contacts would secure a 2-1 in the shoot-out.

Frank Chaboyer was in the Mauler net facing 33 shots, while Lane Beal faced 21 in the Saskatoon goal.

The teams meet again Sunday in Yorkton with the game scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
