Alexander Junior Cardinals in for a busy week

The Alexander Menswear Yorkton Junior Cardinals will be playing an awful lot of baseball in the next couple of weeks.

The Alexander Menswear Yorkton Junior Cardinals will be playing an awful lot of baseball in the next couple of weeks.

After coming off one of the most disappointing outcomes the team has ever seen, it was right back to work this past Tuesday evening following the hosting of the AAA provincials one week ago.

The Cardinals did not have much of a break and will not be getting many more as the season begins to quickly wind down as they attempt to take on both Â鶹ÊÓƵ East Senior Baseball League action, as well as getting themselves ready for a trip which will see the team players and staff fly out to Montreal and then get set to head to , Trois-Rivières, where they will represent for the second time in three years the province of Saskatchewan at the 2010 National Championships of men's hardball.

Before the Junior Cardinals start thinking about the possibility of coming out on top in the biggest showcase there is, they've appeared to have their hands full with a Willowbrook squad that won't go down easy.

Tournament action starts up on Aug. 19 when they play Team Manitoba at 11:30 a.m. Other competing teams will include: the hosts (Trois-Rivieres), Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. Yorkton co-coach Gary Lamb said the game scores will be updated on the Baseball Canada web site.
