Two men arrested in large drug bust fail to appear in Saskatoon court

Police raided three homes and seized $150,000 in jewellery, $32,000 cash, a BMW, cocaine, and a loaded firearm

SASKATOON – Bench warrants to hold have been issued against two accused drug traffickers after they failed to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court.

Jacob Bird and Logan Klassen had appearances scheduled Thursday. The Saskatoon Police Drug Unit arrested Bird, Klassen and Anna Seibel on Oct. 15 with help from the Saskatoon Police Tactical Unit.

According to Saskatoon Police, as part of their drug investigation they executed three search warrants at residences in the 100 block of Saskatchewan Crescent East, the 200 block of Van Impe Close, and an apartment in the 300 block of Tait Crescent. They seized a loaded firearm, more than $150,000 in jewellery, more than $32,000 in cash, a 2012 BMW, 216 grams of cocaine, 1,500 grams of cannabis, 719 grams of cannabis shatter, cell phones, packaging and other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

The warrants against Bird and Klassen haven’t been activated and their matters were adjourned to Jan. 18, 2022. Seibel is also scheduled to appear in court that day.
