SASKATOON – A trial for a 33-year-old Saskatoon man charged in a dial-a-dope police sting has wrapped up.

The trial for Denar Thomas ran May 9, June 27 and June 28 in Saskatoon Provincial Court.

Thomas was arrested after the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit and Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit executed search warrants on a vehicle and home on July 23, 2021.

Saskatoon Police say they had observed activity consistent with drug trafficking and the search warrants were executed following a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Circle Drive East near 1st Avenue North and at a home in the 200 block of Willis Crescent.

Police seized 53.6 grams of crack cocaine, 1.1 gram of soft cocaine, five mobile phones, $6,795 in cash, and one vehicle.

Thomas was charged with possession and trafficking drugs.

The Crown and defence both rested their case and the matter was adjourned to Sept. 28 in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
