Red Shoe Walk Ronald McDonald House Charities 鈥 Saskatchewan celebrated thirty years of keeping families together during a medical crisis this past Saturday. Sunday was the day for Yorkton to celebrate at the inaugural Red Shoe Walk at Logan Flats during the afternoon. Built in 1985, 鈥淭he House that Love Built鈥 was constructed in Saskatoon to support thirteen families. Twenty-nine years and an expansion later, the house accommodates 34 families. The only thing that has not changed is the price. $10 per night is the cost that was set in 1985 so that families would be able to afford accommodations while also paying for their child鈥檚 medical expenses. Guests at the house shared their stories and gave their thanks to the volunteers that have kept the house open. 2, 3, 5 and 7 kilometre walks were marked, along with fun factual signs along the trails for attendees. The Ronald McDonald House Charity reminds everyone that the house is not based on economic need, but the need of the child in medical crisis.Michaela Miller
