Terrell Maze, a Saskatchewan Roughrider who had won the 2015 Most Outstanding Community Service Award, had the opportunity to select a charity to give a donation towards. He chose the Children's Wish Foundation as the charity of his choice and on November 12 he presented the $5,000 donation. Hansen was on hand along with Gaye Oldhavier, (director of Children's Wish) and Marnel Jones from Mosaic for the cheque presentation.

The Children's Wish Foundation is a uniquely Canadian charity that helps Canadian children, families and communities by granting the favourite wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. With every wish that is granted, it creates moments of joy that ease the pain of a child, give respite to the child's family, and connect health care professionals and communities in that burning wish of hope, according to information from the Foundation.

鈥淲e have granted 23,000 wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses,鈥 according to the website. 鈥淓very wish is as unique as the child making it, from finally getting to cuddle with grandparents who live far away to hitting a puck with a favourite hockey player. In the often painful life of a seriously ill child, these wishes have made a tremendous difference.鈥
