Students from the Sturgis Composite and Elementary schools did well as they competed against other schools for top spots during the Cherrydale cross-country meet in Yorkton on September 15.
           "The runners have been dedicated and have been practicing every noon hour and  have showed great effort and improvement," said Carla Olson.
           In the Elementary school, Avyn Seerey placed eighth overall out of 102 runners in the Squirt category.
           There were a total of 19 students from grades 3, 4 and 5 who all participated in the meet.
           The runners from Sturgis Composite High School who also participated and placed in the top 10 in their categories were: Shanae Olson, fifth; Jalen Bayer, fifth; Rhianna Olson, third; Kaiden Masley, seventh; and Chaz Jaeb, ninth.
      Other participants were Camron Secundiak, 22nd; and Paige Hanson, 21st.
