SHA lowers their flags to half mast

REGINA — Saskatchewan Health Authority has issued a statement indicating they will be lowering their flags to half mast in the aftermath of the tragedy at James Smith Cree Nation.

Eleven people are dead and another 19 injured as a result of the stabbing incidents that took place Sunday morning at the James Smith Cree Nation and at Weldon. Hospitals in the province were at Code Orange during the height of the situation Sunday, as patients were flown in by STARS Air Ambulance.

The SHA statement is as follows:

"Our hearts go out to those affected as well as their families in the aftermath of the tragedy at James Smith Cree Nation, Weldon and surrounding area. As a symbol of our support for the people and communities we serve that were impacted by this terrible tragedy, we are lowering our flags to half mast."
