SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo has retained its Canada Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA) accreditation, demonstrating excellence in animal care and management as well as a commitment to conservation and education.

Founded in 1975, CAZA is a private charitable organization representing Canada's top zoological parks and aquariums. The Saskatoon Zoo is the only CAZA-accredited facility in Saskatchewan.

“We are so proud to maintain our CAZA accreditation. I want to thank our incredible team at the Zoo who work tirelessly to provide the highest-quality animal care and continue to contribute to conservation and education initiatives that enhance animal welfare,” said Zoo Manager Jeff Mitchell as he expressed his gratitude to his team.

Every five years, CAZA requires zoos to complete the accreditation process to maintain their membership in the association. The accreditation process entails a comprehensive self-examination and a multi-day site visit for adjudication.

The Zoo's accreditation is valid for five years and may be reviewed or inspected at any time within five years.

CAZA promotes accredited zoos and aquariums as humane organizations prioritizing animal welfare, conservation, science, and education. For more information, visit .
