Saskatoon police make multiple arrests after weapons investigation

Six people are facing more than 100 firearms-related charges

SASKATOON - Six people have been arrested and are collectively facing in excess of 100 charges following a weapons investigation that resulted in the execution of a search warrant.

On Monday, at approximately 1 p.m., members of the Guns and Gangs Unit of the Saskatoon Police Service, assisted by the Tactical Support Unit and Patrol, executed a search warrant at a target address in the 300 block of Avenue Q Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

As a result of the investigation, police seized two sawed-off firearms, one loaded, and the other with readily accessible ammunition.

A 35-year-old Saskatoon woman faces 16x firearms-related charges.

A 24-year-old Saskatoon man faces 18x firearms-related charges and 3x Breach of Release Order.

A 35-year-old Saskatoon man faces 18x firearms-related charges and 1x Breach of Release Order.

A 32-year-old Saskatoon man faces 18x firearms-related charges and was also wanted on a Criminal Code warrant.

The Guns and Gang Unit was formed in 2015 in response to the growing gang presence and drug trade in Saskatoon and across western Canada.
