SASKATOON — The city's crews continue their restoration efforts, working to address a water main break that occurred on Monday, June 12.

Due to the necessary repairs, the northbound lanes on Circle Drive, from 33rd Street to Airport Drive, remain closed.

Since Tuesday morning, the city's crews have been repairing the water main break, which continues to impact traffic and water pressure in the affected area.

Although the initial leak was successfully repaired, another break transpired during the re-pressurization process, a common occurrence during central water repairs. As a result, the repair work has been prolonged.

The city empathizes with the frustration residents and commuters feel, as the northbound lanes' reopening will only take place later this week. An official reopening date will be communicated to the public once confirmed.

In the meantime, drivers are strongly advised to avoid this area and, if possible, seek alternative routes while adhering to the current traffic detours.

Additionally, residents and businesses west of Circle Drive and south of Airport Drive may experience lower-than-normal water pressure until the repairs are fully completed.

The City of Saskatoon expresses its gratitude to the community for their unwavering patience throughout this repair process and urges everyone to comply with the traffic detour signs, ensuring the safety of all involved parties.
