Saskatoon charges bring homicide total to seven for this year

A 39-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder.

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service has charged a 39-year-old man with second degree murder, in connection to an incident that occurred in June.

The 39-year-old was initially charged with attempted murder after an assault that took place on June 13 in the 100-block Hospital Drive. This past weekend the victim, a 55-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries. This is Saskatoon's seventh homicide of 2022.

The 39-year-old remains in custody and was scheduled to be in court Thursday afternoon, regarding the elevated charge.
