Rash of incidents of break, enter and theft under investigation

The public’s assistance is requested in helping to solve a recent rash of break and enters in the Canora/Sturgis detachment areas.

            In the last month, the Canora detachment has received approximately 25 reports of break and enters to farmyards, and local businesses, according to an RCMP release. Some of the items stolen include: money, a Honda generator, chain saw, Makita cut-off saw, numerous power tools, cigarettes, ice cream treats, chips, liquor (Kirkland brand), diesel and gasoline (including jerry cans), and aviation equipment. An item stolen worth noting was an entire money till.

The communities that have been experiencing these thefts include Canora, Buchanan, Rama, Sturgis, and Preeceville, and the surrounding RMs, the release states.

Anyone with any information can contact the Canora detachment of the RCMP or Crimestoppers at 222-TIPS.
