Top academic and athletic students were acknowledged for their achievements at the Preeceville School awards day on June 19.
A special presentation was made to those who helped in making the Breakfast Cafe open every morning.
The Family Resource Centre played a key role in the Breakfast Cafe by securing funding and providing the administration for the program.
Women who volunteered and dedicated their time to the program were: Janet Walker, Amanda Balyski, Eileen Boyle, Marlene Covey and Lorna Bosner. Tonile Lario and Sarah Deruiter, teachers
who are currently on maternity leave, were also acknowledged for their help in running the program,
Students from Grades 7 who received top academic awards were: Grade 7, Morgan Mclean, ELA and social studies; Emily Prestie, math and practical applied arts; Clairie Giddings, science and art; Willen Paligan, physical education; and Kirsten Murray, health.
Students from Grade 8 who received top academic awards were: Kelsey Daschuk, ELA, math, social and practical applied arts; Rachel Pankratz, science; jake Huska, physical
education; Hailee Delawski, health; and Rowan Prestie, art.
Students from Grade 9 who received top academic awards were: Cynthia Happy, ELA and practical applied arts; Natasha Lingl, math, science and art; Billy Prestie, social; Coleman
Preeceville School students acknowledged for their achievements Metherell, physical education; Ryle Rada, health; and Sylvan Klebeck, practical applied arts.
Students from Grade 10 who received top academic awards were: Kaeley Neitling, ELA and Crex; Sydney Giddings, math, science and art; Connor Novak, social and wellness; and Desrai Englot, commercial cooking and practical applied arts.
Students from Grade 11 who received top academic awards were: Ruth Kabongo, ELA; Brittany Kashuba, ELA and social; Josiah Sorgen, math and science; Nick Lingl, physical education;
Logan Karapeta, Crex; and Sean Ebel, practical applied arts and visual arts.
Drama awards were presented to: Brittany Kashuba, most improved; and Kaitlyn Pidherny, most dedicated.
The entire Student Representative Council was acknowledged. Cross-country running awards went to: Jake Huska, most improved; Todd Pankratz, dedicated and determined; and Connor Nagy,
dedicated male.

Football awards were presented to: Jackie Huang, MVP d e f e n c e ; S t e v e n Geistlinger, dedicated and determined; and Shawn Holowachuk, rookie of the year. Kendal Fidek of Invermay was acknowledged with the
MVP offence award and Lucas Peterson received the linesman award. Junior girls volleyball awards were presented to: Angelina Sorgen, most dedicated; and Kelsey Daschuk, most improved. Senior girls volleyball awards went to Brianna Antonichuk, MVP and most dedicated player; Jessylee Wionzek, sportsmanship; and Nicole Bileski, most improved.
For senior boys volleyball, the MVP award was shared by Nick Lingl and Josiah Sorgen.
For junior girls basketball, Meghan Petryshyn received the most improved award; Makenna Petryshyn, rookie of the year; and Megan Braithwaite and Kelsey Daschuk each received the
dedicated awards.
For junior boys basketball, award recipients were: Kristen Javelona, MVP; Ryan Young, rookie; Brandon Dyky and Ryle Rada shared dedicated player; and Matthew Fenske and Sean
Paligan shared the most improved player award.
For senior girls basketball, award recipients were: Faith Stroeder, MVP; Christina Shewchuk, top rookie, Shanae Shewchuk, best helper; Ruth Kabongo, most improved; Kaitlyn Pidherny,
sportsmanship; Lexie Young, team leader; and Brittany Kashuba, most dedicated.
For junior girls curling, Rachel Pankratz received the most improved award and Morgan Mclean received the dedicated and determined player award.
For junior boys curling, James Dodge received the dedicated and determined award, and Connor Fincaryk received the most improved award.
Junior badminton awards went to: Cody Hort, most improved player; and Kelsey Daschuk, MVP. Willen Paligan received the top male track-and-fi eld athlete award and AngelinaSorgen received the top female track-and-field athlete award.
Sean Paligan was presented with the athlete-of-the year award.
A slide presentation of the school’s activities during the year was played at the conclusion of the awards day program.
