Students, staff and invited guests assembled for the Preeceville School's annual Remembrance Day service on November 10.
           "The annual service pays tribute to soldiers who fought for our freedom," said Sarah DeRuiter, a teacher.
           Spencer King, president of the Student Representative Council, gave the opening remarks prior to the presentation of the Colour Party by 606 Harvard Air Cadet squadron.
           Taylor Braithwaite recited the Act of Remembrance and made a commitment to remember.
           Pastor Hein Bertram played The Last Post followed by two minutes of silence and Reveille.
           The SRC members performed a candle-lighting ceremony in which each student had his or her candle lit as the flame was passed from student to student.
           Eric Prestie laid a wreath on behalf of the cadets. Doug King, principal, and Chris Balyski, Good Spirit School Division board member, laid a wreath on behalf of the school. Jim Ward laid a wreath on behalf of the Legion.
           The grades 3 and 4 students recited Why Wear a Poppy.
           The students from grades 1 and 2 performed The Peace Song.
           Spencer King concluded with closing remarks followed by O Canada and God Save the Queen by Britney Vewchar, accompanied by Bonnie Lisitza.
           The cadets escorted the Colour Party out of the hall at the end of the service.
