Preeceville Figure Skating Club members perform to Holidays on Ice

Young athletes showcase skating hard work during final show for the season.

PREECEVILLE - The Preeceville Skating Arena was alive with excitement as the members of the Preeceville Figure Skating Club took to the ice for their ice carnival on March 24. The carnival showcased the talent and hard work done through the season by the 50-plus students. The theme for the carnival was Holidays on Ice and featured skaters performing to a variety of musical melodies.

Heather Tunbridge-Jaeb was the head coach for the club with program assistants helping through the season. Assistants were: Mia Mitchell, Camryn Nelson, Paje Reynolds, Layla Jaeb, Mollie Jaeb, Seth Reynolds, Trenley Nelson, Macey Mitchell, Ripley Pristie, Mackenna Firman and Adley Ward.

Laura Sliva had the responsibility to introduce each skater as they took to the ice for their performances. Candace Kuta was the music co-ordinator.

Taking to the ice first were Star Skaters: Trenley Nelson, Mia Mitchell, Layla Jaeb, Camryn Nelson, Paje Reynolds, MacKenna Firman, Macey Mitchell, Seth Reynolds, Adley Ward and Ripley Pristie, who performed to The Last Saskatchewan Pirate.

Stage One boys Deklyn Morton-Blender, Everett Nelson and Forest Van Nieuwenhuyze were accompanied by their program assistant as they skated to Surfing USA.

Jaxxon Rubletz skated a solo performance to Two Tickets to Paradise.

Rayne Weinhandl, Stetson Checkowy, Axil Pickering, Georgia Van Nieuwenhuyze and Sawyer Salisbury skated to Soak Up the Sun.

Ayda Morton-Blender and Violet Quewezance performed to Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.

Jilliane Barnachea, Kelsey Olson, Shaye Burym, Alex Algabre, Athina Rubletz, Briley Friday, Blakley Firman, Kaleigh Meberg, Cruz Jaeb and Adley Ward skated two performances, one to California Girls and the other to Canadian Girls.

Chance Will, Oliver Nelson, Vedder Pickering, Andre Genaille and Wyatt Algabre were stage two boys who performed to Life is a Highway.

Chantelle Quewezance, Evelyn Maier, Bella Matsalla, Junah Bell, Willow Matsalla, Alice Christianson, Rayna Blotski and Hazely Preston skated to Kokomo.

Chantelle Quewezance, Evelyn Maier, Bella Matsalla, Junah Bell, Andre Genaille, Willow Matsalla, Alice Christianson, Rayna Blotski, Hazely Preston, Vedder Pickering, Oliver Nelson, Chance Will and Wyatt Algabre were stage two skaters and performed to Winter Wonderland.

Freya Sandager, Charis Maier, Avaya Meberg, Josie Moekerk and Danae Draper, stage four girls, performed to Viva Las Vegas.

Sage Ward and Cruz Jaeb gave a special performance duet to 1000 Miles.

Camryn Nelson performed a solo to When God Made You my Mother.

Josie Moekerk, Freya Sandager, Jaxson Rubletz, Charis Maier, Danae Draper and Avaya Meberg, stage four skaters, skated to Working 9 to 5.

Layla Jaeb and Ripley Pristie performed a duet to Love Story.

Stage One skaters, Deklyn Morton-Blender, Ayda Morton-Blender, Forrest Van Nieuwenhuyze, Everett Nelson and Violet Quewezance performed to Little Rabbit Foo Foo.

Paje Reynolds skated a solo to Welcome to New York.

Rayne Weinhandl, Stetson Checkowy, Axil Pickering, Georgia Van Nieuwenhuyze and Sawyer Salisbury, stage three skaters, performed to Fireflies.

Star Skate members Trenley Nelson, MacKenna Firman, Adley Ward and Macey Mitchell skated to Alberta Bound.

Chantelle Quewezance, Evelyn Maier, Bella Matsalla, Junah Bell, Andre Genaille, Willow Matsalla, Alice Christianson, Rayna Blotski, Hazely Preston, Vedder Pickering, Oliver Nelson, Chance Will and Wyatt Algabre, stage two skaters, performed to Winter Wonderland.

Mia Mitchell skated a solo to Ready, Set, Don’t Go.

The program concluded with all the skaters and coach performing a grand finale.
