Five young strong curlers brought home a bronze medal during the Yorkton Invitational Bonspiel on December 4 and 5. The boys, coached by Bill Dodge, spent many hours practicing together over the past few years and have found a common bond in one another.

The team consists of: James Dodge, skip; Keegan Bilanchuk, third; Braden McLean, second; and Connor Fincaryk and Eric Dodge share the duties of the lead position.

In the first match, Preeceville lost a close 4-3 game against St. Michaels. The second game saw Preeceville easily defeat St. Mary's by a score of 10-1. The next team that Preeceville faced was St. Paul's and the boys won 4-3. They also defeated Sacred Heart 5-3. The Canora team proved to be more of a challenge and Preeceville fell short 6-3.

In the bronze match up, Preeceville took on Saltcoats and easily secured the victory for the bronze medal.

"We had a great time and it was fun curling with the same guys that have played together for two straight years," said James Dodge, skip. The next big event for the Preeceville team will be Districts at Kamsack on January 8 and 9.
