Last Thursday, Saskatchewan RCMP provided an update on the case of Sheree Fertuck, the Kenaston-area woman who went missing in December 2015.

Police released images of the areas that officers have been searching since 2015 and are asking the public to help them in their search.

The search parameters include:

  • North of the gravel pit that is directly south and adjacent to Highway 15
  • Â鶹ÊÓƵ of the Highway 764 grid extension
  • East of the Highway 764 grid extension

The police are also asking the public for any information regarding a dark-colored tarp-like or polyethylene material that they’re searching for.  If pieces of this material are found in these search areas, investigators are asking the public to come forward as this information could prove beneficial in finding Sheree’s remains.

Fertuck was last seen leaving her family’s farmyard east of Kenaston in December 2015.  She was wearing eyeglasses, grey sweatpants, a grey sweater and white running shoes.

Following an extensive investigation over the last three-plus years, Sheree’s estranged husband Gregory Fertuck was arrested last month and charged with her murder, as well as a charge of committing an indignity to human remains.  He appeared via video in a Saskatoon court room on Monday, July 22, where his case was adjourned until August 14 for case management in order to discuss what needs to be done before a preliminary hearing.

Greg Fertuck claims he is innocent in the disappearance and murder of his wife Sheree, telling a recent CBC podcast series that he only told undercover police officers he "got rid of" his wife because he thought the officers were going to kill him.

"Sheree was my wife, I loved her and I wouldn't hurt her," said Fertuck, interviewed by CBC at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre on July 12.

Greg Fertuck remains in custody.

Anyone with information related to the case of Sheree Fertuck is asked to contact their local police detachment or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
