Yorkton Council approved the appointment of Matt Charney, Interim Parks and Arena Manager as the Municipal Inspector under The Forest Resources Management Act, Weed Inspector under The Weed Control Act and the Pest Control officer under The Pest Control Act for 2016.
Each year Council is required to pass a resolution for the annual appointment to the three positions, explained Darcy McLeod, Director Community Development, Parks & Recreation, at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday.
鈥淚n January, Council appointed Merv Doering, Parks and Arena Manager as Pest Control Officer, Weed Inspector and Municipal Inspector for the City of Yorkton. Doering has since retired from the City of Yorkton and therefore Council is required to appoint another person to fill these roles,鈥� he explained, before recommending Charney to the three roles.
