The Preeceville Midget Pats, coached by Dean Serdachny, Karren Statchuk, Tim Shankowsky and Kipp Bayer, announced that the team is making a run in the provincials. The first game of the two-game, total-point series against Prairie Storm (near Balgonie) will be hosted in Preeceville on January 22.
           "We are excited to announce our run for the provincial title," said Sheldon Walker, manager. "We want to encourage everyone to come out to see some great hockey action as we make a run for the provincial title. The first match will be against Prairie Storm from the Balgonie area. The first of two games will be held here in Preeceville in the evening of January 22. The second game will be held in Balgonie later in the next week. Spectators and hockey fans are always welcomed at all games. The next home games are scheduled for January 23 against Fort Knox and February 1 against Yorkton."
           The midgets faced off against Churchbridge/Esterhazy Flyers in home game action on January 15. The midgets came up with a big 7-2 win. Scoring for the Pats were: Cole Wiwcharuk, Bryce Pelechaty (four goals) and Tanner Kopeck (two goals). Assists were made by Kopeck, Wiwcharuk, Shankowsky, Pelechaty, Jaden Petryshyn and Steven Kardynal. During the game, Jack Prien, who has dedicated many hours over many years to run the hockey clock, was recognized as he was wished a happy 88th birthday.
           The Peewee Pats team faced off against Canora in home game action on January 13. The final score was 9-2 for Preeceville. Scoring for Preeceville were: Todd Pankratz (two goals), Kaiden Masley, Dustin Shankowsky (two goals), Brynn Babiuk, Jillian Tonn and Trever Geistlinger (two goals). Assists were made by Babiuk, Geistlinger, Jakob Turchinetz, Shae Peterson, Pankratz and Masley.
           The bantam team saw action on January 17 when it defeated Esterhazy 4-1. Scoring for the Pats were: Cody Hort (three goals) and Connor Nagy (one goal). Assists were made by Peyton Shewchuk and Dylan Wiwcharuk.
           The atoms also saw action on January 17 when they downed the Kamsack Flyers by 7-2. Scoring for Preeceville were: Zachary Sorgen (two goals), Kimmuel Albarracin, Kaiden Masley (three goals) and Chaz Jaeb. Assists were made by Aaron Cudal, Nathan Anaka and Masley.
           The novice team won the A side of the Canora tournament on January 16 and 17. In their final game, the Pats defeated the Churchbridge Imperials 4-2. Scoring were Mason Babiuk (two goals), Avyn Seerery and Cole Secundiak. Assists were made by Cole Masley and Erron Bochnuik.
