SASKATOON – A man who allegedly held a woman captive in a basement for four days was back in Saskatoon court Wednesday.
Jesse House, 27, is charged with unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering threats of death, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
A Saskatoon Police investigation determined that a woman was held against her will in the basement of a house from Jan. 6 to Jan. 10.
Police say paramedics called them to the area of the 3200 block of Preston Avenue Â鶹ÊÓƵ at about 6:45 a.m. on Jan. 10. The paramedics had reported to police that they treated a woman with injuries consistent with an assault.
Saskatoon Police, with support from the Saskatoon Police Tactical Unit, the Guns and Gang Unit, and the Canine Unit, went to a home in the 200 block of Avenue L North and arrested House and Jarrod Taylor McKay.
McKay pleaded guilty in Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench earlier this year and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
House remains in custody and appears next in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Oct. 19 to speak to his matter.
The charges against McKay haven’t been tested in court.
