Shayna Waite of Preeceville has embarked on a journey of a lifetime that started when she won the title of Miss Teen Eastern Saskatchewan and has continued as she prepares to compete for the title of Miss Teen Canada.
鈥淚t鈥檚 only a couple of more weeks until I leave to the big city of Toronto for the Miss Teen Canada pageant and I could not be any more excited,鈥� said Waite. 鈥淚t has been such an amazing experience so far and I am so lucky to have been chosen to represent our Province of Saskatchewan in the Nationals. Fundraising has been going really well so far and my last fundraiser which involves selling raffle tickets for the basket of donated items is just being wrapped up. Even though these last few months have been in-credibly busy, I know it will all be worth it in the end. I am moved by the fact that I am one of the 70 girls from across Canada who have been chosen to participate in the Miss Teen Canada pageant.
鈥淧ageant preparations are starting to come together and I am getting ready. I know that these last couple of weeks will go by so fast and before I know it, this amazing experience will all be over. The platform that I will representing in Nationals is the Ronald McDonald House. I am going to be fundraising and participating in the Ronald McDonald walk in September and will start fundraising for that when I get back from Toronto. The Ronald McDonald House gives kids the one thing they need the most 鈥� their families,鈥� she said.
鈥淚 have a great support group that will be coming along with me to Toronto. As my entourage of 10, they will be cheering me on. Even though there is only three nights of competition, all the delegates will be judged the entire week. Starting on August 3 there will be online voting.
This will add points to my over-all score for the 铿乶al night. Please log onto and please vote for me! 鈥淭he 铿乶al competition on Sunday will not be televised but will be broadcast on the web. As of now, I do not know any of the details but will provide them when I 铿乶d out more.
