Loaded weapon found by Saskatoon police in stolen vehicle

A 25-year-old Saskatoon woman, a 26-year-old Prince Albert man and a 31-year-old man from Moose Jaw face 46 charges

A search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a sawed-off shotgun, a loaded sawed-off rifle an airsoft pistol and ammunition.

SASKATOON — Two men and a woman are facing 46 charges after Saskatoon police found weapons in a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 10:20 a.m. March 20, patrol officers spotted a Jeep Grand Cherokee which had previously been reported stolen. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop at Avenue D and 22nd Street, however the driver refused to stop, fled the scene and began driving in an erratic and dangerous manner.

The Air Support Unit was able to track the vehicle from the air and direct ground units. A tire deflation device was deployed and was successful, causing the vehicle to stop at Avenue C and Pakwa Place.

Three people attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended nearby.

A search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a sawed-off shotgun, a loaded sawed-off rifle an airsoft pistol and ammunition.

The three, a 25-year-old Saskatoon woman, a 26-year-old Prince Albert man and a 31-year-old man from Moose Jaw are facing charges including dangerous driving, evade police and firearm offences. All three were also wanted on outstanding warrants of arrest.
