Kindersley RCMP apprehend barricaded suspect without incident

KINDERSLEY — Kindersley RCMP advises residents and travellers in the downtown area of Kindersley a situation that had caused an increased police presence has been resolved.

Police officers successfully apprehended a suspect without incident. No one was injured, and by 10:30 a.m. Friday the roads were in the process of being reopened.

Kindersley RCMP and Rosetown Traffic Services had responded early Friday morning to a potential armed and barricaded situation at an apartment building on the 110th block of Main Street. The building was secured by police officers, traffic barricades were placed around the area and additional RCMP resources were being brought in to assist with the situation.

Residents in the community and motorists were asked to avoid the area.

Kindersley RCMP says it thanks the people of Kindersley for cooperating with police officers and thank their local partners, the Rosetown Traffic Services and the Town of Kindersley, for helping police resolve the situation safely.
