Jingle and Mingle has everyone involved

Students of the Preeceville School gave a heart-warming Christmas concert for their families.

PREECEVILLE - Staff and students welcomed family and friends to a jingle and mingle festive event at the Preeceville School that was highlighted with a concert of music and acting by elementary students on Dec. 19.

Leslea Hanson, vice-principal, was the mistress of ceremonies and kicked off the concert with the reading of the land acknowledgment and leading the singing of O Canada. The kindergarten class performed, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer followed by the Grade 5 class’ reciting of Twas the Night Before Christmas Break. The Grade 1 students gave a hip-hop performance. The Grade 2/3 class entertained the audience with Jingle Bell Rock, followed by the Grade 6 students reciting How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Grade 3/4 class performed The Canadian 12 Days of Christmas followed by the senior girls basketball team rendition of Twas the Night Before Basketball.

After the concert everyone was invited to participate in visiting classrooms and having their picture taken at the photo booth. Meanwhile, band students were in the hallway performing. There was cookie decorating, community calendar pickup and playing bingo for books. Cookies and hot chocolate were provided by the School Community Council.
