The St. John Lutheran Church congregation in Preeceville took up the cause of providing toques, mittens, slippers and scarves for children in Northern Saskatchewan. They were packed up and shipped on December 11.
"The project has congregation members knitting or crocheting all through the year," said Deb Myhr, an organizer. "By creating these garments we are providing gifts of love and providing warmth for the children.
“We have had others donate leftover yarn that we used for some of the mittens and toques," she said.
The church women worked with the Lutheran Association of Ministries and Pilots (LAMP) project to distribute the mittens to school children in the North.
