The Goodeve Community Center held its regular monthly meeting on Jan. 14, 2013. They decided that there will be a supper and a dance on the evening of April 27, 2013. There will be more details to follow.
The community of Goodeve would like to welcome Tex and Anna Barnhardt as well as Darren Highway.
On Dec. 28 Mary Soltys went to Moose Jaw with her daughter Bev and Larry Pilipow to see their little Grandson Andrew being baptized. Andrew is the son of Tyler and Amanda Pilipow.
In January Mary Soltys went to Saskatoon to see the addition of the family, a daughter to Garrett and Erin Soltys.
Congratulations to Greg and Lisa (Cherepuschak) Kuntz of Regina on the birth of their daughter, Emily Ann Kuntz. She weighed 6 lbs 3 ounces. Emily was born on Dec. 28, 2012. Proud grandparents are John and Adrienne Cherepuschak of Goodeve and Harvey and Max Kuntz of Vibank. Proud Great Grandparents are Tony and Olga Achtemichuk of Yorkton.
Congratulations to Ashley and Kyle Pedde on the birth of their son, Brecken Rheys. He weighed 8 lbs 1 ounce. Brecken was born on Jan. 11, 2013. Proud grandparents are Clarence and Violet Woychesko and Brian and Sharon Pedde. Proud great Grandparents are Rose Halushka and Ruby Pedde.
The Goodeve 4-H Beef Club held a meeting Dec. 2. They planned a Christmas party which was held on Dec. 28, with activities like tobogganing and a potluck supper.
Public speaking competitions are approaching quickly and many of them have started to prepare for it. There will be district competitions in Stockholm and Regional competitions in Estevan this year.
Club members have started to train our animals in anticipation for their Achievement Day in the summer. They have a wide selection of steers, heifers and cow-calf pairs.
They would like to congratulate the 4-H programs on their 100th anniversary this year.
The Goodeve 4-H Beef Club had their first meeting on Jan. 27, with fifteen members present.
There was some new business. They discussed a tour to the power plant in Estevan and a slaughter house which is owned by Spilchuks.
