聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 By buying gasoline at the Co-op in Kamsack on September 19, residents will also be supporting the district鈥檚 rescued animals.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Yorkton Co-op wants its members and customers to 鈥渇ill up and feel good,鈥� said a release from the Co-op, which includes the Kamsack gas bar.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 As part of Fuel Good Day on September 19, the amount of 10 cents from every litre of fuel sold will be donated to the Paws and Claws Animal Rescue in Yorkton, the release said.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淒uring the day, the Co-op will also be holding fundraising barbecues at each of its participating locations with representatives from Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Inc. on site to answer any questions one may have regarding the organization.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 At the Kamsack location, persons who make donations to Paws and Claws will be able to enter their names into a draw for a new barbecue unit, said Jacquie McNeil, the manager.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e could hope for a total of from $5,000 to $6,000 being raised for the charity,鈥� McNeil said, adding that each year Co-op customers are asked through its Facebook page what charity they would favour for the annual Fuel Good Day event.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This year customers chose Paws and Claws, but next year if Kamsack residents might wish to select another charity, possibly a Kamsack organization, to benefit from the event, she said.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e鈥檒l be selling such items as pet food and kitty litter during the day,鈥� she said, adding that she hopes to obtain the services of a mascot to entertain customers during the day.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Yorkton Co-op is a retail co-operative that has proudly served Yorkton and surrounding area for more than 76 years, said a release from the Co-op. Yorkton Co-op serves more than 19,875 members, and many more customers, in Yorkton, Theodore, Kamsack and Ebenezer, where it operates two food stores, three gas bars and three agro centres.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Since 2007, Yorkton Co-op has returned more than $20.9 million to its members in cash back and equity, while contributing over $1.2 million to community organizations and initiatives.
