鈥淎t the Jan 11, Committee of the Whole Council Meeting session, the Consulting Firm (Dillon Consulting) presented to the Committee of the Whole Council the Final Report of their review for Yorkton Fire Protective Services,鈥 explained Chris Wentzell, Director of Human Resources, at the regular meeting of Council Monday.

At the Jan. 11, meeting The Final Report was presented and provided Council five options for consideration, he said.

Council decided to table a decision to the January 25, 2016 regular meeting of Council.

鈥淎fter Council received the Final Report, the President of the IAFF Local 1527 - Mr. Neal Matechuk, who requested to speak to Council was invited to do so. In his speech to Council, Mr. Matechuk invited City Administration to meet with the IAFF Local 1527 to try and come up with an 鈥淥ption 6鈥 for consideration. These meetings occurred on Monday, January 18, 2016 and January 19, 2016 and there is a possibility that an Option 6 be presented to Council for consideration,鈥 said Wentzel.

It was the recommendation of City Administration that Council further table a decision regarding the Yorkton Fire Protective Services Review Report to the February 8, 2016 Regular Meeting of Council, on the premise that an Option 6 may be presented for council鈥檚 consideration.

Council was unanimous in tabling the matter.
