For the second time Yorkton Council has tabled its decision regarding the Yorkton Fire Protective Services Review report.
The Review first came to an open meeting of Council Jan. 25, where it was first tabled to the regular meeting Monday.
However, City Manager Lonnie Kaal explained an Option 6 was presented in draft form to the Committee of the Whole meeting and it was recommended to Council to consider this option in addition to the five options previously noted in the Dillon Consulting Report.
Administration is endeavoring to compare the preferred options and get some information from the fire underwriters survey to determine what if any, these changes would have on fire property insurance rates.
The new option was developed internally by the Fire Chief, Deputies, Local Union President and Secretary.
It was recommended the decision again be tabled, this time until the Feb. 22 meeting of Council, so the locally developed option can be provided in the same format as the options in the Dillon report so that direct comparisons can be made at the next council meeting, explained a report circulated to Council Monday.
