Education week to be celebrated

Preeceville and Sturgis schools will be opening their doors to the public in celebration of Education Week from October 19 to 23.

Preeceville and Sturgis schools will be opening their doors to the public in celebration of Education Week from October 19 to 23.

The Preeceville School will be hosting a week-long event beginning on Monday with a bus driver appreciation day followed by a K-6 read afternoon in recognition of Education Week. Parents are encouraged to come out and read with the children. Tuesday’s activities included a school-wide picnic. Wednesday is scheduled for an open house showcasing the new gym floor, and various booths promoting the school. Booths include: band, SCC, response to intervention, Panther athletics, SRC, graduation plans, course selections and classroom teachers. The Student of Distinction award will be presented.

Thursday is a sports awareness day and Friday concludes the week with a nutrition break.

The Sturgis Elementary School will host an open house on October 22 with students’ work displayed. The SCHS will host a pancake breakfast open to all students and the public on October 23. The Student of Distinction award will be given out.

Celebrating Each Student is the theme to this year’s education week.
