Members of the Hiawatha chapter of the Eastern Star at Kamsack held their installation of officers for the 2017 term.
           The installing officer for the ceremony held December 7 was Nancy Leson of Canora, the outgoing Worthy Matron. Assisting her were Ellie Kilmister of Kamsack, marshal, and Angela Bothner of Yorkton, chaplain.
           Installed were: Milena Hollett, Worthy Matron; Sally Bishop, Associate Matron; Marjorie Orr, secretary; Mary Welykholowa, treasurer; Susan Bear, conductress; Kathleen Achtymichuk, marshall; Marianne Washburn of Yorkton, Adah; Angela Bothner of Yorkton, Ruth, and Ellie Kilmister, sentinel.
           Following the installation Susan Bear played the guitar and sang Morning Star beautifully, said Hollett. During the meeting, Mary Welykholowa was recognized for her many years as a devoted treasurer for the chapter.
           Nancy Leson was presented her past Worthy Matron pin by Hollett and Leson presented Hollett with her Worthy Matron pin, which was the pin that had been originally worn by Past Worthy Grand Matron, the late Ethel Carss.
           Following the meeting, fellowship and refreshments were enjoyed by members and invited guests in the lower hall.
           In the raffle, a framed cross-stitch work by Ellie Kilmister was won by Sally Bishop, while a quilt created by Mary Welykholowa, with help from Nancy Leson, Marjorie Orr and Kilmister, was won by Nancy Leson.
