Canora Children’s Centre and Kidspace do take youngsters on a casual, part-time and full-time basis, contrary to a statement published in last week’s edition.

In a story about Tricia Bedore of Canora starting a day care facility that will cater mainly to parents needing day care service for their children on a casual or part-time basis, the statement was made that the Children’s Centre, where Bedore is a former employee, no longer takes youngsters on a part-time and casual basis.

Both, the Canora Children’s Centre at 113 First Avenue East and Kidspace at 206 Main Street, take children on a casual, part-time and full-time basis, said Michelle Hembling, who co-directs the facilities with Carmen Born. Each facility is government licensed to have 35 spaces for a total of 70.

There is a waiting list, “But at the end of the day both facilities are always accepting new applications,” said Hembling. The Children’s Centre is designed for children up to four years of age and Kidspace is designed for children from four to 12 years of age.

Bedore is in the process of setting up a facility that will be licensed for 20-25 children.
