SASKATOON — The City of Saskatoon is looking for volunteers to fill up various positions that will help shape programs and services that benefit all residents in the different communities.
The city usually relies on the diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise of its residents to join in any of its 10 boards, committees and commissions in any capacity they can.
The volunteer program is part of the city’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan where they invite residents to join the various boards, committees and commissions.
The program reflects the community’s diversity as everyone is welcome to volunteer and serve as members bringing different perspectives, guidance and advice.
City leaders say they welcome and value the members for the differences, experiences, talents, and contribution they bring to the board, committee, or commission they join.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to give recommendations and share their inputs, advice, and expertise.
Diversity equity and inclusion, municipal heritage, public art, and Saskatoon environmental are the committees while the commissions are municipal and district planning.
The city is also looking for board members for the Marr Residence Management, Remai Modern Art Gallery of Saskatchewan, TCU Place, and Board of Revision and Licence Appeal.
Individuals who want to volunteer must submit their application on or before 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4.
The city says joining as a volunteer gives you valuable experience and the chance to expand your network and contacts.
