Last week, Parkland College announced that a number of area students are among the 68 to share in more than $75,000 worth of the internal spring scholarships.
These awards are in addition to approximately $114,500 in entrance scholarships handed out in September. Including the spring scholarships value, more than $190,000 have been awarded in the 2015-16 academic year, which is just shy of Parkland College’s record amount, set last year. The College has now given out more than $100,000 in scholarships in five consecutive academic years dating back to 2011-12.
From Kamsack, recipients were: Teala Macek, Louis Dreyfus Commodities Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity $1,000 scholarship in agriculture; and Jarrin Musqua, Town of Kamsack Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity $1,000 community scholarship.

These awards are made possible through the generosity of local businesses, organizations, community members, College staff, and sponsors and participants in the annual Dollars for Scholars Golf Classic, said a release from the College.
Eligible post-secondary awards are matched by funds from the Ministry of Advanced Education’s Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship program. Funds are provided on a dollar-for-dollar matching basis, as available, with local non-government donors.
