Residents of Preeceville and area will soon benefit from additional physician services in the community.
A newly recruited physician will move to Preeceville to join the primary health care team on October 1, said Lynel Martinuk, communications co-ordinator for Sunrise Health Region.
A third physician, upon successful completion of the Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment, will also join the Preeceville team in October, Martinuk said.
鈥淔ocused recruitment efforts to restore sustainable physician services have been ongoing,鈥 said Suann Laurent, president and CEO. 鈥淚 am very pleased that we will have the stability of three physicians in Preeceville.鈥
The Primary Health Care Clinic remains fully operational with Dr. M. Shahrestani, Dawn Kennedy, the nurse practitioner, and locum physicians continuing to see clients in Preeceville, Martinuk said. Appointments can be made by phoning the Clinic.
The Sunrise Health Region continues to work with local providers, physicians, the Ministry of Health and the community to work on improving health care services in Preeceville, she said.
