On Sept. 16, officers from the Yorkton RCMP Detachment, Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit-Â鶹ÊÓƵ (MCU-S) investigated the report of human remains located near Highway 16, approximately eight kilometres west of Springside, SK.
The body of an adult male was located a short distance off the highway.
A forensic autopsy was conducted yesterday in Saskatoon. A Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Anthropologist, Dr Ernie Walker, assisted in identifying the human remains, which were determined to be 40-year-old Darwin Keith Whitehawk. He was reported missing to the Yorkton RCMP Detachment in late July, 2020.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Darwin Keith Whitehawk continues to be investigated by the Saskatchewan RCMP MCU-S and the Yorkton RCMP Detachment.
