Yorkton RCMP execute Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant

On April 10, 2020, the Yorkton Detachment Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance of the Yorkton Detachment General Investigation Section, and officers from the Yorkton Detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residence on Betts Avenue in Yorkton.

Property seized in the search included a large quantity of methamphetamine and psilocybin, bladed and blunt instrument weapons, and other assorted prescription and cannabinoid drugs.

The resident occupant, 36-year-old Blain Gaudet was arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offences including:

· CDSA S. 5(2) Possession of methamphetamine and psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking;

· CDSA S. 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I substance;

· CA S. 8(1)(b) Possession of illicit cannabis;

· CC S. 354(1)(a) Possession of property obtained by crime, and;

· CC S. 145(4)(a) Failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking before a judge.

The accused was remanded into custody and had his first court appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on April 13, 2020. His show cause hearing will be held on April 16, 2020.
