The Board of Directors of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce elected its 2021 Executive at a meeting of the Board Wednesday.
Marty Sveinbjornson was acclaimed as President for 2021.聽 Marty is in the first year of his second term as a Director.聽聽
Mr. Sveinbjornson is looking forward to his term as President.聽 鈥�2021 will prove to be a challenging year as we continue to deal with the ramifications of the pandemic,鈥� he said.聽 鈥淭he Chamber will continue to advocate for our business community in order to keep it strong and vibrant.鈥�
A planning session will be held soon in which the Chamber Directors will develop a list of goals it wants to accomplish for the year.聽 鈥淲hile the business community has faced and continues to face challenges due to the pandemic, many businesses have found the ability to adapt,鈥� said Sveinbjornson.聽 鈥淭he Chamber will be there to support our business community.鈥�
One of the first orders of business will be for the various standing committees to meet and review the past year.聽 The Directors will meet with City Council in early February and will set up meetings with other elected officials.
Joining Sveinbjornson. on the Executive are Mike Stackhouse, Past President; CV Sastry, Vice President; & Chairs of the standing committees 鈥� Mark Hoddenbagh; Carol Yaholnitsky; CV Sastry; and Sunil Shah.
The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce is 鈥渢he voice of business in Yorkton鈥� and represents over 450 members.
