About the Western Development Museum
The WDM was established on April 2, 1949. This was when the Saskatchewan Government passed The Western Development Museum Act. With four exhibit locations in Saskatchewan, the WDM is the province's largest human history museum. The WDM's mandate is to collect, preserve, and exhibit objects of historical value and importance connected with the economic and cultural development of Western Canada and to stimulate interest in Western Canadian history. The Museums' vision is a Saskatchewan where everyone belongs and histories matter. The WDM is a registered charity (Charitable #: 119293215 RR0001).
