Richardson Pioneer gives grandstand project a boost

Fundraising for what is now being Phase I of the grandstand replacement project, was given a significant shot in the arm today as Richardson Pioneer made a $50,000 donation.

Fundraising for what is now being Phase I of the grandstand replacement project, was given a significant shot in the arm today as Richardson Pioneer made a $50,000 donation.听

鈥淎t Richardson we like to contribute back to the communities we are in,鈥 said Brent Woloshyn, Director of Operations, Pioneer, adding the grandstand is 鈥渁 project that will benefit the community for many years to come.鈥澨

Barb Woytas with the Yorkton Exhibition Association said the project, with a cost of about $730,000 has been a success because of the financial support of the community, which has been so positive they were able to add some lighting and other small enhancements to the project.听

And, a Phase II will add some chain link fencing, landscaping and other features.听

In the meantime, the first event in front of the Legacy Co-op Grandstand will be the Eastern Professional Chariot & Chuckwagon Association races this weekend.听

鈥淲e can鈥檛 wait to get our friends and families together,鈥 said Woytas.听

Woytas said the YEA is working on other projects for the summer.听

鈥淲e鈥檙e very hopeful to have some more events this summer,鈥 she said.听
