RCMP have been made aware of several "fraudulent" phone calls being received by residence in the Saltcoats and surrounding areas.
The caller has been posing as a representative of the STARS lottery and is advising people they have won a car through the lottery.
The caller then asks the "lucky" winner to provide funds for shipping / freight and asks for personal banking information.
Please be aware this is a SCAM and do not send money or provide banking information over the phone.
