The Second Annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids was held Dec. 12, at the Ecological Preserve in Yorkton.

In general the birds were lying low and the day was cloudy but the kids made a hike of it, and did see two chickadees, a raven, and a magpie.

Having to socially distance changed some of the ways the count was held, but organizer Allison Henderson wanted to keep it going and then do something more formal next year.

So, using word-of-mouth to advertise to keep numbers manageable those who participated still had lots of fun.
