Get ready to kick off summer with a series of outdoor socially-distanced concerts featuring Regina singer-songwriter Jeffery Straker.
The concerts will take place outdoors on Thursday, June 17 at 7 pm Friday June 18 at 7 pm Saturday June 19 at 2 pm.
Straker grew up taking piano lessons in small[1]town Saskatchewan and swears he was born under the piano on the family farm, stated a Yorkton Arts Council release.
Since then Straker鈥檚 gone on to perform over 100 shows per year across Canada, Europe and Latin America and was named the 2020 Saskatchewan Music Awards Roots/Folk Artist of the Year.
鈥淭he storytelling nature of his songs has the power to transport a listener - out onto a lake in Canada鈥檚 North or to the main street of a prairie town,鈥 stated the release.
Described as 鈥渁 clever lyricist with an energetic piano style鈥 his song writing has drawn critical comparisons to the likes of Harry Chapin, Kris Kristofferson and Billy Joel.
In order to be able to properly meet COVID-19 requirements, attendance at each concert is limited, and advance registration is required.
The location of the performance will be provided to registrants the day before the show.
