An ice storm hit Yorkton in the middle of the night and the results was extensive damage.
The storm caused an interruption in power across most of the city just after 3 a.m. While power did flash on occasionally, at least in some spots, it was not restored permanently, at least again in some areas until around 12:30 p.m.
The ice, which was still falling from many trees at noon today, caused many branches to break off, and some of those branches hit parked cars, and homes.
