Christ the Teacher School Division held its first divisional chess tournament last week. St. Paul's, St. Michael's and St. Henry's in Melville participated in the tournament, organized by Charlotte Lovequist and Ardis Wayman. Directors Darcy Todos, Drew Fedorowich and Eugene Fedorowich presided over the games. Gracynn Gurniak-Hudy, grade 3 at St. Michael's, faced off against Spencer Furber, grade 3 from St. Paul's. Winners in the junior category: 1st, Daniel Bazin, grade 3, Saint Michael's School; 2nd, Nikolas Litke, grade 3, Saint Paul's School; 3rd, Alexandria Hanishewsky, grade 4, Saint Michael's School.
